PTV Operations Protocols.

To satisfy state certification requirements for the PTV, three operations protocols were devised to accommodate successively increased levels of risk. The protocols are expressed in terms of the maximum pressure that is reached for a given PTV operation. However, other factors may influence the decision to opt for a higher-risk protocol due to safety concerns related to a particular job. Such decisions are not codified -- the judgment of a knowledgeable operator is believed to be more reliable.
