and 425 are scheduled to be used during the time of the test:

After checking if the rooms are unreserved during the time of test,
call Su Tipple to have her block out that time so that no one can
reserve the rooms at the time of the proposed test.

After getting clearance on maintenance, notify Environmental Health
& Safety (Scott Nelson sdnpey@uw.edu) proposing a schedule for
test. The email must include the date, time, duration, and maximum
pressure.

The email must include the date, time, duration of the test, and a
reminder that only personnel directly involved in the test are
permitted in the building during the Evacuate Protocol.
Signs must be placed on all exterior doors of the Ocean
Sciences Building. The sign must include “BUILDING CLOSURE” in
bold type along with date, time, and contact information (ie., Aaron
Morello, 206-221-6078, aaronm@uw.edu).
- 1 Day Prior:
- Second email message to everyone addressed in the first
email -- include the same information contained in the first email in
addition to any updated or changed information.
- Before Starting:
- All signs that were placed on the exterior doors
must be changed. New signs must state in bold type: “Pressure
test in progress. No admittance to building” along with date, time,
and phone number (206-221-6078) of the Pressure Vessel room.
A building-wide PA announcement must be made that briefly describes the
planned operation. An example of such a PA announcement might be
Attention please. The pressure vessel will be in operation for the
next 90 minutes. The maximum pressure will be 10000 psi. As the
potential risk is higher than normal, evacuation of the building is
required. For information about potential hazards, please call the
operator in room 140 at 221-6708.
In addition to the PA notice, illuminated signs must be turned on
(High Pressure: Evacuate Building.).
- After Test:
- Remove all door signs and turn off the illuminated signs.
Make a PA announcement that the test has been completed.
