List of Tables

  1. The discharge volume for the PTV at various pressures. The last four table columns correspond to the PTV with 3, 2, 1, or 0 aluminum ingots installed to reduce the compressible volume.
  2. Properties of the PTV and aluminum ingots.
  3. The compressibility of water at a temperature of 20$^\circ $C. The compressibility varies by less than 20% over the range of pressures and temperatures that are applicable to the PTV.
  4. Proposed notices for illuminated signs.

The purpose herein is to establish guidelines for the operation and maintenance of the 10 kpsi pressure test vessel (PTV). This manual is intended to provide a general context within which the PTV can be safely and productively operated. According to the collective judgment of the PTV operators, normal vessel operations can be modified in a particular situation in order to achieve higher quality or safety.

Please refer to the table of Contents at the front of the manual for a preview of discussion topics. As this is also intended as a reference manual, please note that a summary of tables and figures is also provided.
