APEX 231 was deployed with a parking depth of 800 dbar and an up-time of 18 hours. Given an ascent rate of $8~\frac{\textrm{cm}}{\textrm{s}}$ then 104 s are required to reach the surface which leaves 15.25 hours of transmission time. The rep-rate is 88 s which means that the float will transmit a total of 623 times per profile. Each 900 ms transmission consumes 424 mA of current at 12.5V. Hence, each transmission consumes 4.77 J for a total of 2.97 kJ per profile.
