No data profiles are available for this float because it has insufficient
mass to sink below the surface. Although the University of Washington had
no role in the preparation of this drifter, it is speculated that the most
likely cause of this problem is a ballasting error. Please contact either
the manufacturer or the owner of the float for
details.
This drifter was purchased by the Japan Atomic Energy Research
Institute (JAERI)
and deployed in the Japan Sea by the Russian Far East Regional
Hydrometeorological Research Institute (FERHRI). At their
request, UW has agreed to manage data processing and web generation for this
